Akylbek Japarov: Bishkek should become center of science, education and finance

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov took part in a meeting of the extended board of the Bishkek City Hall to sum up the activities of the capital’s municipality for 2022 and plans for 2023. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

According to it, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that the capital of Kyrgyzstan is an important indicator of the country’s development.

According to him, «the successful implementation of the project to build 15 modern schools and 1 kindergarten according to the standards of developed countries has shown that it is possible to make a breakthrough for a short period — in our case, to solve the problem of the lack of general education institutions. This is an indicator of the progressive development of the country as a whole.»

In the near future Bishkek should become a center of science, education and finance, a place where our citizens will develop and live in prosperity and safety.

Akylbek Japarov

He stressed the willingness of the Cabinet of Ministers to provide all possible assistance in solving the problems of the capital.

«According to the plan, more than 1,500 environmentally friendly buses should run around the city this year. We are also ready to support the idea of purchasing gas-powered cars for taxis, work is underway on the phased transfer of the HHP to the Bishkek City Hall. More active work on supply of newly built quarters with gas will begin. When planning new residential complexes, the availability of parking spaces should be a prerequisite. This should become a necessary requirement when obtaining the relevant permits. The most important thing is to create comfortable living conditions for citizens and guests of the capital,» the head of the Cabinet noted.

He paid special attention to the issue of ensuring cleanliness in Bishkek.

«This is one of the fundamental directions in the work of the municipality. If we do not take action in time, there is a risk of turning into a large village. Citizens should be taught urban culture from an early age. Do not litter, do not spit, sort garbage, respect the space of another person — all this should be instilled from childhood. We should perceive new buildings as a full-fledged part of the capital, where conditions should be at the same level as in the city center,» added Akylbek Japarov.

He said that Osh and Bishkek should become drivers of the development of the republic, noting that every resident should contribute to the development of the city.
