Higher education institutions of Kyrgyzstan will develop a model of financial autonomy of universities. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.
According to it, the project is aimed at developing a system of university financial self-management, its testing, expansion and increase of financial independence.
«Within the framework of the project, prospects for the financial and economic independence of universities in Kyrgyzstan will be studied, a model will be developed, and the financial powers of universities will be clarified for subsequent legal approval. It is planned that the model will be prepared based on the experience of financial management of the University of Florence and the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg,» the ministry said.
The project consortium includes 12 higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan, 2 international educational institutions in Germany, Italy and an Italian public organization.
Development of Financial Autonomy of Universities in Kyrgyzstan (DEFA) project is funded by the European Union’s Erasmus + programme.
