Kyrgyzstan introduces new rules for regulation of prices for medicines. The Ministry of Health has submitted a draft resolution for public discussion.
According to the document, the cost of medicines included in the National List of Essential Medicines, approved by the Cabinet, will be regulated.
Control functions are proposed to be assigned to the Department of Medicines and Medical Products under the Ministry of Health.
«When signing the resolution, the holders of registration certificates for medicines will have to submit to the authorized body an application for registration of prices for medicines in circulation before the expiration of three months from the date of entry into force of the document, for the first time registered medicine — within 10 working days from the date of its first import. In case of failure to submit an application for price registration within the established time limits, the authorized body independently makes calculations and registers the prices of the medicine,» the background statement says.
Registered prices, maximum wholesale and retail prices for medicines included in the catalog are valid until changes in registered prices.
