Ex-deputy of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Orozaiym Narmatova, who is being kept in the Bishkek remand center 1 on charges of organizing mass riots to seize power, was diagnosed with a heart condition during a medical examination. Her lawyer Gulyana Ubalieva told journalists.
According to the lawyer, the day before her client was taken to a private medical center. Doctors diagnosed her with «first-degree mitral valve prolapse.» They did not do a gastroscopy, since the person under investigation may not withstand this procedure and die from shock.
Gulyana Ubalieva added that it is dangerous to be in a pre-trial detention center with such a disease. In addition, Orozaiym’s mother and older brother died earlier due to heart conditions. Doctors recommend stopping the hunger strike, but Orozaim intends to continue the protest.
Earlier, activist Perizat Suranova underwent a full examination. But the doctors did not find indications for hospitalization.
At least 17 defendants in the criminal case on attempt to seize power by force, held in the Bishkek remand center 1, went on a hunger strike. The condition of ex-deputy of the Parliament Orozaiym Narmatova and activist Perizat Suranova has deteriorated sharply.
The arrested placed all responsibility for the consequences of the hunger strike personally on the president of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamchibek Tashiev, Minister of Internal Affairs Ulan Niyazbekov, Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev and the investigators, prosecutors and judges.
