Kyrgyzstan regards adoption of concept of CIS industry development as essential

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev took part in the 96th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) via videoconference. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

Adylbek Kasymaliev noted that strengthening of economic cooperation and development of its industrial potential remain one of the priority areas of Kyrgyzstan’s work in the CIS. He added that only through joint efforts would it be possible to successfully confront a number of modern challenges in the global economy caused by the geopolitical situation in the world.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted the importance of adopting a concept for the development of industrial cooperation in the CIS countries and a set of measures to develop industrial cooperation until 2030. The main goals of the documents are the creation of new high-tech industries, accelerated development and modernization of industrial production.

Adylbek Kasymaliev focused on creating favorable conditions for further growth of the economy of the CIS countries. He mentioned the planned major project for the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway.

The official told about the priorities of the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz Republic in the CIS in 2023.

«In October, at the summit of the CIS heads of state, President Sadyr Japarov outlined the priorities of Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship in the CIS next year. Issues of climate change, environmental and ecological issues in direct connection with the problems of economic security and sustainable development are among them. I note that the Kyrgyz Republic is always open to foreign investment and is ready to support the initiatives and projects of investors,» he concluded.
