Bishkek City Hall plans to increase garbage disposal tariff

The Bishkek City Hall plans to increase the tariff for garbage disposal. The Vice Mayor of Bishkek for housing and communal services, Zhyrgalbek Shamyraliev, announced at a press conference.

«The issue is being considered against the backdrop of rising prices, including for spare parts, fuels and lubricants. A draft tariff increase will be submitted to the Bishkek City Council for consideration. I don’t have preliminary calculations yet — work on them is ongoing,» he said.

The current tariff is 22.5 soms per person per month.

The capital of Kyrgyzstan again faced the problem of household waste disposal. Komtranscom company no longer serves Oktyabrsky district since October 29, in connection with which heaps of garbage have formed. The company terminated the contract due to a debt of 12 million soms, formed in 2016-2022. From October 30, household waste is again being collected by Tazalyk municipal enterprise.

At some point, even Bishkekzelenkhoz municipal enterprise was involved in this work. Despite all efforts, the city authorities still cannot restore order.

It should be noted that Bishkek faced a similar situation last summer.
