More than 10 hectares of saplings die in Tokmak forestry

More than 10 hectares of saplings died in Tokmak forestry. Environmental activist Zhumgalbek Toktonaliev told at a press conference at 24.kg news agency.

«Unfortunately, the planting of forests in Kyrgyzstan has turned into a show. PR experts, not specialists from the forestry enterprises, do it. Previously, hundreds of hectares of forest were planted, and they took root. Now, roughly speaking, 20 saplings are planted and they are boosting about it to the whole world. They can not save even what has already been planted. 13 hectares of plantings died: 10 hectares of walnut and 3 hectares of apricot,» he said.

According to the specialist, the plantings were not provided with the main thing — irrigation water, initially dooming them to drying out and death. The distance was also not observed during their planting.

«Sadyr Japarov initially announced a very important project for Kyrgyzstan, but the officials did everything in the best traditions — they used the budgets, took pictures in white gloves, and that’s it. In fact, they simply used the name of the president as a cover and deceived him,» Zhumgalbek Toktonaliev concluded.

The head of state Sadyr Japarov launched the national campaign Zhashyl Muras throughout Kyrgyzstan as part of the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development and the Year of Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Climate Resilience.
