Production of traction and bionic cyber prostheses to be opened in Kyrgyzstan

Production of traction and bionic cyber prostheses for hands, including for children, will be opened in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of Skolkovo Foundation reports.

According to it, Motorika company agreed to open its own production of traction and bionic cyberprosthetic hands in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Russian manufacturer of hand prostheses Motorika (resident of Skolkovo) will produce its products in the Kyrgyz Republic. An agreement was signed on the localization of production with the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund and the Republican Institution of Prosthetic and Orthopedic Products.

According to the Skolkovo Foundation, investments in this project are estimated at up to $1.5 million.

«The developments and products of Motorika are in demand in almost all CIS countries,» said Alexander Okunev, Deputy Vice President for Regional Development and Interaction with the CIS of the Foundation.

According to him, the project in Kyrgyzstan is being implemented in accordance with the interstate program of innovative cooperation between the EAEU member states until 2030. Assistance in the transfer of technology for the production of Russian prostheses will be provided by the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth and the Skolkovo Foundation as the operator of the program.

Earlier, the Ministry of Labor of the Kyrgyz Republic presented a line of cyberhands along with a rehabilitation program.

According to the Republican Institution of Prosthetic and Orthopedic Products, there are 311 people in Kyrgyzstan who need prosthetic hands.
