The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan is launching a pilot project for the purchase of electricity generated by solar panels installed by individuals on their homes and land plots. The Deputy Head of the Ministry, Sabyrbek Sultanbekov, told at a briefing.
He recalled that the new version of the law on power industry includes the concept of microgeneration.
«The ministry will issue a decree on a demonstration project within a week or two, which will show the purchase of electricity generated by a private house. This is a pilot project. The Ministry of Energy is firmly convinced that it will launch a series of such projects. We are not reinventing the wheel. Such a system works in all developed countries where it is possible to control energy (reception and transmission). We plan to launch an automatic commercial metering system throughout the country, but before that we will launch a microgeneration project using the capabilities of the Kyrgyz Energy Settlement Center,» Sabyrbek Sultanbekov said.
