The UN World Food Program project supported 638 educational institutions, Mercy Corps — 510.
«In addition, Mercy Corps will assist 114 more schools, and the World Food Program — 49,» the ministry noted.
The Ministry of Education added that since September, 62 educational institutions of Chui region have switched to hot meals under the project «Optimization of school meals» of the Ministry of Education and Science with the support of the Russian Federation and WFP. These schools already have good experience in providing students of 1st-4th grades with meals.
In total, according to the latest data from the ministry, there are 2,333 schools in Kyrgyzstan.
