Size of deputy funds will be doubled. Deputies will start receiving 80,000 soms monthly for work needs and representation expenses in the near future. Marlen Mamataliev, a deputy from Yntymak faction, confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the deputy funds were created several years ago in order to rationally use budgetary funds.
«Earlier, about 100,000 soms were spent on one deputy. These funds were allocated for a driver, maintenance of a car, gasoline, stationery and representation expenses. This also included travel expenses. Then we decided to save and limit funds. We decided that 40,000 should be enough for everything, and the deputy should drive his car, purchase fuel and lubricants for this amount,» Marlen Mamataliev told.
To date, according to the deputy, due to inflation, the allocated funds are not enough.
«The issue is supported. The fund has been almost doubled,» Marlen Mamataliev said.
As for wages, he said that there was no solution.
«Salary and rate of pay issues are subordinate to the president. The decision is made as part of a general decree to increase the wages of civil servants. We are on the register of political positions. If we are included in this category, then our salaries will be increased. We don’t have the information right now. The decree has not yet been issued,» the deputy explained.
The monthly fund of a deputy of the Parliament is 40,000 soms. The deputies receive the money in addition to wages. It is designed to cover the cost of mobile communications, fuel, stationery, groceries and etc. at their discretion.
The law on the creation of the deputy fund was signed by the president in 2016. Prior to its entry into force, deputies were allocated funds for various expenses, on which they reported separately.
