The first library named after Chingiz Aitmatov of the Centralized Library System of Bishkek opened after reconstruction.
As the head of the library Asel Akmatova told 24.kg news agency, last year the City Hall allocated 2 million soms for renovation of the building.
«Cosmetic repairs were carried out for 500,000 soms. Furniture, interactive whiteboards, laptops, tablets, a projector, a printer and other equipment were purchased for 1.5 million soms. Here you can not only read, but also hold training courses, open lessons, literary evenings. We are waiting for our residents, especially young people, to come and improve their intellectual level,» Asel Akmatova said.
The opening of the library was attended by the writer’s sister Roza Aitmatova, deputies of the Parliament Nurzhigit Kadyrbekov, Dinara Ashimova, Vice Mayor of the capital Victoria Mozgacheva and others.
