«In 2022, we plan to start working on the corporate bonds market,» Artem Novikov, Chairman of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF), said at the opening of the international multi-sectoral business mission of Russian companies to Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, almost the entire financial market is concentrated in the banking sector now. Capitalization of the stock market is 58.4 billion soms, or 8 percent of GDP. The total assets of banks and non-banking financial and credit institutions amounted to 392.7 billion soms.
«The Fund will act as a major institutional investor (buyer) of bond issues. This will serve as a signal to both current and potential participants of the stock market in the face of issuers, investors, professional participants about the presence of large institutions of the financial market of Kyrgyzstan in the stock market. In addition, this will lead to the activation of the primary and secondary markets of corporate bonds, an increase in its liquidity and capacity. We invite our partners to join the work on developing the corporate bonds market, and also urge regulators to start working on creation of additional conditions for its development,» Artem Novikov said.
