Political scientist Marat Kazakpaev, who is suspected of treason, was taken to intensive care unit from the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security. His lawyer Ikramidin Aitkulov confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
According to him, doctors diagnosed him with a hemorrhagic stroke. He noted that a hearing of the case was to take place on June 10. It takes place behind closed doors, since all materials are classified.
In April 2021, the State Committee for National Security sent out information about detention of two citizens for treason. One of the detainees was a political scientist Marat Kazakpaev, the second was the former head of the Kazakh diaspora in Kyrgyzstan Marat Toktouchikov.
