First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
The meeting took place within the framework of participation of Kyrgyz delegation in the 47th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank Group. The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, the progress of projects implemented by the IDB in Kyrgyzstan, as well as issues of further expansion of project partnership and increasing the number of projects that are a priority for the country’s development.
The parties stressed the need for development and soonest signing of a country strategy for cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Islamic Development Bank for 2022-2027.
Arzybek Kozhoshev also conveyed a message from the President Sadyr Japarov to the head of IDB on the issue of opening an office of the Islamic Development Bank in Bishkek.
«The opening of the bank’s office will contribute to the implementation of new projects in many priority areas for the republic and will give impetus to the development of our cooperation,» he noted.
«We are interested in strengthening and expanding the project cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in implementation of various infrastructure projects with the focus on identifying new priority projects and increasing the speed of their implementation», the IDB president said.
Particular attention was also paid to the issue of holding in the near future of the fourth roundtable with the participation of members of the Arab Coordination Group, which includes the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Qatar Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the OPEC Fund for International Development.
The Kyrgyz side invited Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser to visit Kyrgyzstan. The invitation was accepted.
