A data center will be built at the premises of Dastan Transnational Corporation. The Minister of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan Talant Imanov said at a meeting of the Committee on Budget, Economy and Fiscal Policy of Parliament.
According to him, the ministry did not have enough infrastructure to implement the plans.
«The plant is the first IT company of the union. Its main direction was underwater naval weapons. The plant performs its functional duties. Seventy percent of the territory of the enterprise is empty,» the official said.
According to him, the plant will be reorganized into a national holding.
«This is a military facility with the material base and electrical safety appropriate for the implementation of the project to create a data center that will store all our data in the cloud. We planned to implement it on the basis of Kyrgyztelecom. But, as you know, there are no opportunities, the company’s loss is 70 million soms. We have no interest,» the minister said.
