Ceiling collapses at school in Terek-Sai village, injured reported

Ceiling collapsed in one of the classrooms of a secondary school in Terek-Sai village, Chatkal district. A teacher and students were taken to hospital. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

«We received message about collapse of the ceiling in the classroom of the secondary school No. 18 named after Chymkanbaev in Chatkal district. Three rescuers were called to the scene. As a result of rescue operations, 16 students and one teacher were evacuated and taken to Ala-Buka district hospital,» the ministry reported.

According to preliminary information, the teacher was injured. The students were outside the classroom at the time of the collapse.

The ministry promised to provide updated data on the victims and circumstances of the incident later.
