For the first time in history, Kyrgyzstan won 14 medals at the Asian Wrestling Championships held in Mongolia. The President of the Wrestling Federation Melis Turganbaev told at a press conference in Bishkek.
Kyrgyz wrestlers won four gold, three silver and seven bronze medals.
«In the final standings of the championship, Kyrgyzstan took the 4th place. The team of the Kyrgyz Republic in Greco-Roman wrestling took the 3rd place, the national teams of the Kyrgyz Republic in women’s and freestyle wrestling — the 6th place,» he said.
He noted that the national team of Kyrgyzstan in Greco-Roman, freestyle and women’s wrestling consisted of 21 athletes, eight coaches, two doctors, a massage therapist and two referees of the international category.
