The first round of negotiations on a draft agreement on the avoidance of double taxation between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia took place. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Currently, work is underway to reach bilateral agreements with the states of near and far abroad to regulate tax relations between partner countries. The main goal is to eliminate double taxation of income and capital of business entities with the same taxes in different states.
«Agreements on the avoidance of double taxation are also considered as a means of attracting foreign direct investment in the economy of the republic. In addition, the main objectives of the agreements are to protect a resident of one country from discriminatory taxation in another contracting state, to prevent tax evasion or abuse of the provisions of the agreements, and achieve mutual exchange of information between the competent authorities of the contracting countries,» the statement says.
