The Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan proposes changes to the law regulating the international adoption procedure, in particular, accreditation of organizations that solve these issues.
The main objectives of the accreditation are:
- Ensuring compliance by the representative office with requirements of the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the field of international adoption;
- Establishing uniform requirements for representative offices;
- Establishment of general rules for accreditation;
- Ensuring control over the living conditions and upbringing of children in families of adoptive parents on the territory of a foreign state.
The head of the representative office of foreign organizations involved in adoption must be a citizen of Kyrgyzstan with confirmation of the absence of a criminal record.
At the same time, employees of educational, medical institutions, institutions of social protection of the population, their spouses and close relatives also cannot head such representative offices.
Such structures are accredited at least once every three years. The authorized body once a year monitors the activities of the accredited representative offices.
