The procedure for setting the official exchange rate of the Russian ruble against the Kyrgyz som has been temporarily changed by the decision of the Board of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan on March 14. Official website of the bank says.
It is noted that such a decision was made to prevent possible speculative transactions with the foreign currency in the domestic foreign exchange market. Previously, there was a rule that the official exchange rate of the Russian ruble against the som is set at a cross rate based on the weighted averages placed on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange at the time the National Bank sets the official exchange rate of the U.S. dollar against the som.
From now on, the official exchange rate of the Russian ruble against the som will be set at a cross rate based on the average values between the maximum and minimum exchange rates of the U.S. dollar against the ruble, recorded at Bloomberg news agency / Reuters news agency in the period from 3 p.m. of the previous trading day to 3 p.m. of the current trading day Bishkek time.
The decree will be in force until further relevant decision of the Board of the National Bank is adopted.
The official exchange rate of the ruble is set by the National Bank at 0.8721 soms for today.
