Kyrgyzstan proposes to open Islamic Development Bank office in Bishkek

First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev, during a working trip to Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), met with the heads of a number of financial institutions in the country. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

Arzybek Kozhoshev met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr. Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al Jasser. The parties discussed joint projects implemented by the IDB in Kyrgyzstan in the field of transport, irrigation and healthcare.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers positively assessed the activities of the bank, noting the great importance of five mobile clinics delivered to the country for the healthcare system of the republic. He suggested opening an IDB office in Kyrgyzstan, which would greatly facilitate the coordination of projects’ documentation and their implementation.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers met with the Director of the Saudi Fund for DevelopmentSultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad. Arzybek Kozhoshev noted that with the assistance of the Fund, various projects are being implemented in the economic, agricultural and transport sectors.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Fund’s activity in Kyrgyzstan.

«I would like to not only complete the planned projects by this date, but also launch new ones that will benefit the Kyrgyz people,» Sultan bin Abdurahman Al-Marshad said, adding that he plans to visit the Kyrgyz Republic by the anniversary date.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold the 4th meeting of the Arab Coordination Group in 2022.
