A new concept for operation of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (CMIF) is being prepared in Kyrgyzstan. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov announced at a meeting of Parliament.
According to him, the current system of medical insurance does not work.
«It is impossible to provide any kind of care to a patient for 150 soms. We must take serious steps in this direction, as we did with the Social Fund. We are preparing a concept on insurance for foreign citizens. It is neither socialism nor capitalism now,» Edil Baisalov said.
MP Dinara Ashimova noted that the CMIF’s activities remain unclear. «The CMIF should be returned to what was planned when it was created,» she said.
Parliament considered a report on the execution of the budget of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund for 2020 and 2021 and forecasts for 2022-2023.
