President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received a delegation of the Saudi Fund for Development, headed by the Director General of the Asia Operations Department Saud Al-Shammari. Press service of the President reported.
The parties discussed current and planned investment projects, as well as planned major events to be held in the near future in Riyadh. For example, holding of a Saudi-Kyrgyz business forum, a tourist road show and other cultural events is expected.
The head of state stressed that the Saudi Fund for Development plays a special role in the development of the Kyrgyz-Saudi cooperation. A good experience of cooperation has been accumulated between the parties. The Kyrgyz side is interested in organizing high-level mutual visits between the two countries to further strengthen the Kyrgyz-Saudi relations.
The President focused on the fact that the Saudi Fund for Development provides significant support to the economic development of Kyrgyzstan, including the implementation of a number of projects in the field of agriculture, healthcare, irrigation, roads, and construction of schools. The parties also discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of the domestic housing program «My Home» for 2021-2026, and also considered the possibility of cooperation with the Saudi Fund for Development in its implementation.
In turn, Saud Al-Shammari noted that close cooperation has developed between the fund and the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, a key part of which is the promotion of development projects. By participating in the development and implementation of projects in various fields, the Fund seeks to contribute to the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan.
Saud Al-Shammari noted that the issues discussed at the meeting would be considered and brought to the attention of the fund’s board. The parties agreed to further enhance bilateral cooperation and to implement joint projects in the future.
