At least 700 hectares of forest have been planted in Kyrgyzstan in 2021. Director of the Forest Service under the Ministry of Agriculture Almaz Musaev told at a press conference in Bishkek.
«Last year we planned to plant 450 hectares of forest, but as a result, this plan was overfulfilled. This year, planting of forest is planned on 1,130 hectares of land. About 6 million seedlings were grown in nursery gardens for these purposes: 2 million will be used for the needs of forestry, 4 million will be sold in the regions for planting by local administrations and citizens,» he said.
The total area of the State Forest Fund of Kyrgyzstan is 2,619,700 hectares, at least 1,116,600 hectares of which are covered with forest. This is only 5.6 percent of the total territory of the republic.
