WHO has approved another COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. UN News reports.
It is noted that the vaccine is Nuvaxovid. The vaccine was earlier approved by the European Medicines Agency.
«The new vaccine from Novavax and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) is a derivative of CovovovaxTM vaccine approved by WHO for emergency use on December 17. Both vaccines are based on similar technology. A full course of vaccination requires two doses,» the statement says.
Previously, vaccines from Modernа, Pfizer, Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), AstraZeneca, Chinese Sinopharm and Sinovac, Indian Covaxin and Covishield, as well as Covowax were listed for emergency use.
