Member of the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan (CEC) Kairat Mamatov was interrogated at the State Committee for National Security. He confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
Kairat Mamatov noted that he was interrogated as a witness within a criminal case on corruption at the state-owned Aiyl Bank. From 2013 to 2019, he was the chairman of the board of directors at this financial institution.
«Financial Police investigated the case earlier. I have always provided assistance and I am ready now. But I want to note: I have not worked at Aiyl Bank for three years. There is a concept of «management of loans after their issuance». Those who work there now are responsible for this,» the CEC member said.
The State Committee for National Security has launched an investigation into corruption at Aiyl Bank. It was reported that the facts of illegal and inappropriate issuance of loans, secured by illiquid assets, to individual companies were confirmed.
