Ecocide: Unique park in Kyrgyzstan sanatorium destroyed

Healthy trees are cut down under the guise of sanitary treatment in Kyrgyzstan sanatorium. Ecoactivist Vlad Ushakov reported on his Facebook page.

According to him, the unique park in the cardiology sanatorium is being destroyed. Under the guise of dead wood and emergency trees, healthy trees are cut down, including those with a special conservation status in the country (juniper).

«Activists of Tash-Dobo and Baytik villages ask to save the sanatorium, the only one in terms of its therapeutic characteristics in the country,» he wrote.

Kyrgyzstan is sanatorium for people with heart diseases. It is located 26 kilometers from Bishkek. It was organized on the basis of a health resort that functioned for many years for the rehabilitation of patients who have suffered myocardial infarction.

The new authorities have created a separate department in the government — the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Technical Supervision. However, ecocide is gaining momentum in the country. Officials remain silent.
