President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the leader of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the sidelines of the summit of heads of countries—members of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS). Press service of the head of state reported.
During the meeting, the presidents discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, including trade and economic interaction, partnership in the energy sector.
Sadyr Japarov noted with satisfaction the noticeable intensification of bilateral Kyrgyz-Turkmen contacts in 2021 and expressed confidence that the agreements reached during the meetings would be implemented on time. He paid special attention to the issues of trade and economic cooperation, diversification of trade between the two states, noting the presence of great potential in increasing mutual trade.
The head of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed readiness of the Kyrgyz side to take all measures to further strengthen and develop bilateral partnership, as well as interaction within international organizations.
The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in turn, stressed the ongoing development of bilateral cooperation and expressed interest in increasing interaction with Kyrgyzstan both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
