COVID-19: More than 1 million Kyrgyzstanis vaccinated with one dose

More than 1 million people in Kyrgyzstan have been vaccinated with one dose of the vaccine against COVID-19. The Ministry of Health of the republic reported.

At least 11,979 people were vaccinated yesterday, 6,054 people of them received the first dose and 5,925 — the second.

In total, 1,008,607 Kyrgyzstanis have been vaccinated with the first dose, with the second — 782,193.

At least 3.4 million people have been chosen as a target group subject to vaccination in the country under the National Coronavirus Vaccination Plan. It does not include children under 18 and external labor migrants.

For the formation of herd immunity, it is necessary to vaccinate at least 70 percent of the citizens included in the target group that is 2.4 million people.

The first batch — more than 250,000 doses — of Pfizer vaccine were delivered to Kyrgyzstan at the end of October. Kyrgyzstanis can also get vaccinated with Sinopharm, QazVac and AstraZeneca vaccines. The republic has already run out of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.
