The Chinese side voiced the requirements that, if met, will resolve the issue of increasing freight traffic across the border with China. Press service of the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan reported.
A meeting with the business community was held at the central office of the State Customs Service. Its participants were informed that during the negotiations the Kyrgyz side asked to reconsider the opening hours of Torugart checkpoint, to make it continuous from 9.00 to 18.00, thereby increasing the traffic.
In their turn, the Chinese side voiced its requirements, namely, to comply with the sanitary and technical conditions of vehicles and trailers, to prevent faulty old vehicles from cargo transportation, to take into account the suitability of technical parameters of vehicles when recoupling cargoes and to ensure the safety of Chinese companies in Kyrgyzstan.
In case of meeting the aforementioned requirements, the Chinese side assured of a significant increase in cargo transportation. The entrepreneurs agreed to strictly abide by the requirements of the Chinese side.
The Chairman of the State Customs Service Kadyrzhan Semeteev noted that negotiations with the Chinese side would continue.
Online negotiations will be held with the Chinese side with the participation of representatives of government agencies on November 6 to remove barriers in cargo transportation from the PRC. Representatives of the Association of Markets urged the acting President Sadyr Japarov to take part in them.
