State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan detained a member of an international terrorist organization who helped recruit Kyrgyzstanis to Syria. Press center of the committee reported.
The 24-year-old man was arrested in the course of active search measures to detect and suppress recruitment channels and sending of recruits to the ranks of international terrorist organizations banned in the Kyrgyz Republic.
It was found out that the detainee, while working abroad, maintained steady contact with a citizen of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the testimony of the detained, during his stay abroad, he helped the citizen of Kyrgyzstan travel to Turkey with a further departure to the combat zone of Syria. He sent him money to finance the activity of the international terrorist organization.
Criminal case was opened on the fact. Investigation is underway.
