Coaches of children's circus studio complain about candidate for director

The head of the children’s studio under the Kyrgyz State Circus named after A. Izibaev, Oksana Ivlieva, explained at a press conference in 24.kg news agency why an outside person should come to the post of director of the circus.

According to her, Aida Akmatova and her supporters, lobbying for the artist’s interests (she runs for the post of the head of circus), offend the studio’s coaches, saying that Asalaiym Ashirova and Anarbek Aitaliev are not professionals and they don’t have training methods.

Oksana Ivlieva was supported by a circus veteran Anarbek Aitaliev. He said that a manager, a good economist, but not an artist should take the post. An artist, according to Anarbek Aitaliev, should perform in the arena, and not hold rallies and put forward ultimatums. Asalaiym Ashirova added that she agreed with Anarbek Aitaliev and complained that she began to receive threats.

The director of the children’s studio and coaches support another candidate — the former deputy minister of culture, information and tourism, Farkhad Bekmanbetov, who was dismissed for improper performance of his duties.

Recall, a month has passed since the dismissal of the former director of the circus, but the question of appointment of a new head has not yet been resolved.

A representative of the only circus dynasty in Kyrgyzstan, Aida Akmatova, and a choreographer Zarylbek Moldobakirov, who has nothing to do with the circus, run for the post.

On January 21, circus artists held  a rally at the White House. Its participants believe that the Ministry of Culture ignores their candidate, and the head of the ministry, Azamat Zhamankulov, wants to appoint his protégé to the circus. The protesters said that 34 artists were ready to resign if the arbitrariness did not stop. The minister promised to appoint a new director within three days. Deadline expires today.
