Atambayev's son-in-law leaves post of head of Kyrgyz Football Federation

Semetei Sultanov announced his voluntary resignation from the post of the President of the Football Federation of Kyrgyzstan.

«I know that the attitude to this decision will be very different. And therefore I want to say that it was balanced and reasonable. The time has come to revise plans, define new goals, find new opportunities, and best of all this should be done by people with fresh ideas and views. Leaving and talking about the future of the Kyrgyz football, I want to assure you that my supporters remain in the football sphere. I wish them enough strength, spirit and will to lead the favorite sport to further success and prosperity!» the son-in-law of the ex-president Almazbek Atambayev said in his open message.

«2019 has begun. This year’s football calendar is full of various interesting and big events. However, the most important of them, of course, is the participation of our national team in the final of the Asian Cup. This is a historic event, which we have been striving for many years and made great efforts to make this a reality that we formerly didn’t even dare to dream of,» Semetei Sultanov says.

He apologized and asked for forgiveness for what was promised, but due to certain circumstances, unfortunately, turned out to be unrealizable.

«Leaving the post of the president of the Football Federation of Kyrgyzstan, I stay in football and am ready to continue working to benefit and contribute to the popularization and development of football both inside and outside the country,» said Semetei Sultanov.

Semetei Sultanov had been heading the national football federation for the last four years.
