SCNS investigators became interested in property of Aibek Kaliyev

Investigators of the State Committee for National Security became interested in the property of ex-head of the National Energy Holding Aibek Kaliyev. His lawyer Baktybek Zhumashev informed 24.kg news agency.

According to him, employees of the State Committee for National Security received a sanction to inspect the property of Aibek Kaliyev. The lawyer challenged it in Bishkek City Court. According to the lawyer, this decision of the Pervomaisky District Court — to allow inspection of the apartment where Aybek Kaliyev’s family lives is unreasonable, since the housing is not the property of the ex-official.

Four criminal cases were opened and seven former top managers of the power industry were arrested in connection with the breakdown and modernization of the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant, including the former head of the energy holding Aibek Kaliyev, the former general director of Electric Stations Salaydin Avazov.

In addition, two former prime ministers Sapar Isakov and Jantoro Satybaldiev and a deputy of parliament Osmonbek Artykbaev are in custody. All of them were charged with corruption.
