The head of the Association of Agro-Industrialists of Kyrgyzstan Aziza Yuldasheva asked the President Sooronbai Jeenbekov to assist in opening of a checkpoint near Kara-Suu village. She stated this at a meeting with the president today.
According to her, the problem of borders remains the most acute over 27 years of country’s independence. Recently, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border has improved. Cross-border trade is developing in the south of Kyrgyzstan, but small and medium-sized businesses face difficulties in moving goods across the state border.
«We ask you to hold talks with your Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev and solve the problem on the border. If we open a checkpoint in Kara-Suu, this would greatly help the local business. Kara-Suu market would begin to work even more actively, our products would go to the neighboring country without problems. Due to this, it would be possible to unload Dostuk checkpoint,» Aziza Yuldasheva suggested.
In addition, Aziza Yuldasheva proposed to reconsider the air travel Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan. She is sure that if the conditions of flights are facilitated, the flow of passengers would increase, which would have a positive effect on the work of local airlines.
