The Secretary of the Security Council Damir Sagynbaev told about high profile criminal cases today at a press conference.
According to him, the checks revealed 2,264 suspended cases on official and economic crimes. At least 107 of them have already been sent to the courts. The rest is under investigation.
In addition, facts of concealing malfeasance were detected.
Direct evidence of involvement in the corruption scheme of the former chairman of the State Customs Service Adamkul Zhunusov was received within a criminal case on tax evasion. He is wanted.
At least 5 criminal cases on modernization of Bishkek Heating and Power Plant are being investigated. Examinations and audits are conducted. Most of the facts were confirmed with billions of losses. The investigation will be completed within a month.
The investigation into the case against Askarbek Shadiev continues. Three criminal cases were brought against the former official. At first, the Prosecutor General’s Office opened a case for abuse of office. The second was filed for illegal crossing of the state border. He was charged with money laundering within the third criminal case. Askarbek Shadiev fled from the country and was put on the wanted list.
