There is a threat of spread of avian flu in Kyrgyzstan. The president of the Association of Poultry Breeders, Rustam Osmonaliev, announced this at a round table discussion today.
According to him, the bird flu has already been recorded on the territory of Russia. Kyrgyzstan banned the import of poultry, eggs and poultry products from ten regions of the Russian Federation.
«Losses due to the illegal import of meat make up annually up to 500 million soms. Because of the poorly protected border, there is a threat to food security and the spread of viruses,» Rustam Osmonaliev explained.
