Askarbek Shadiev resigns

The First Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan resigned. Own sources in the government informed 24.kg news agency. The Prime Minister Sapar Isakov has already received the notice of resignation.

It is known that Askarbek Shadiev decided to resign in connection with the criminal investigation into the appropriation of a large sum of budget funds by the former head of the international department of the Parliament Arsen Zakirov.

Askarbek Shadiev said that he did not want to cast a shadow on the government.

Recall, Bir Bol faction member Askarbek Shadiev is the first deputy of the Parliament, who combines law-making work with the official’s one. Parliament members obtained such power in accordance with the amendments to the Constitution, which entered into force on December 1, 2017.

Askarbek Shadiev headed the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Parliament. As part of the criminal investigation into the theft of $ 30,000, he was summoned to the State Committee for National Security for interrogation.

"I have always worked honestly, for the benefit of the country and the people. Dignity and honor are not the empty words for me, "Askarbek Shadiev explained his decision.

He had worked at the post of the first vice prime minister for only four months.
