A meeting in commemoration of those killed in the Aksy events takes place in Bishkek. It was organized by Aikol Ala-Too NGO.
The participants of the meeting paid tribute to those who died during the Aksy events in 2002.
On March 17, 2002, Aksy residents organized a march. They demanded to release Azimbek Beknazarov, deputy of the Parliament, from custody. He criticized Askar Akayev for concessions to China in the land issue.
The police clashed with local residents in Bospiek village. The security service employees opened fire. More than 30 people were injured, six died.
There are many heroes of the April revolution among the participants of the meeting.
