Number of subsidized villages increases in Kyrgyzstan

Number of subsidized villages has increased in Kyrgyzstan. MP Bakyt Torobaev said this today at a parliament session.

According to him, in 2017 at least six other rural areas entered the subsidized list. «According to the Tax Service, some large companies have reduced their deductions, and 39 companies have ceased their work at all. According to some reports, state employees did not receive a salary for January,» Bakyt Torobayev said.

He added that the market is filled with Uzbek goods. «Middle and small entrepreneurs suffer damage, because they are uncompetitive. Only when we are competitive, villages will cease to be subsidized. We need to work out a development strategy,» the deputy believes.

About 80 percent of rural areas in Kyrgyzstan are subsidized.
