SDMK can’t open central mosque because of cafe

The Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan can not open a central mosque in Bishkek on Zhibek Zholu Avenue because of the cafe located near the main entrance. Lawyer Adyl Zheksheyev told today at a press conference.

According to him, SDMK can not purchase the land plot where the cafe is located.

«The commissioning of the mosque is in question. «Berezka» cafe is located in the territory, where a central entrance to the mosque should be. According to the general layout, the cafe is subject to demolition, but first it must be purchased. However, the owner of the cafe asks $ 2 million for the land, although not everything is in order with ownership documents,» Adyl Zheksheyev told.

He stressed that at the moment the SDMK is forced to seek funds for the purchase of land.
