Today the parliament considered the draft law on presidential elections and sent it to the vote.
Under the bill, the next presidential election is held on the third Sunday in October, in which the term of office of the president expires, to which he was elected. Elections are appointed by the parliament not later than 4 months before the election day.
Hence, the voting will take place on October 15, 2017.

The parliamentarians agreed that it would be inappropriate to hold elections in late November. It was also proposed to consider the date of October 1. After multiple disputes and discussions, the deputies decided that it would be optimal to appoint a vote on October 15.
