Number of bank cards transactions increased by 46.1 percent

Number of transactions with bank cards increased by 46.1 percent for three months. However, compared to the first quarter of 2016, the indicator grew by only 1.08 percent. Such data is presented by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

It is noted that for the first three months of 2017, the volume of transactions using cards amounted to 38, 293.2 billion soms. As before, the bulk of all transactions (95.2 percent) accounted for the cash-out — 36, 479.1 billion soms.

At the same time, the volume of transactions conducted through terminals in trade and service enterprises amounted to 1, 814 billion soms (4.7 percent of all operations). Compared with the previous quarter, the indicator increased by 28.9 percent, with the same period last year — by 83.4 percent.

The number of bank cards in Kyrgyzstan is growing. At the same time, international payment systems prevail. As of March 31, 2017, there were 1, 692.6 million cards in circulation in the republic.
