Academic edition of Manas epic in 6 volumes in the version of manaschi Sayakbay Karalayev was published in Kyrgyzstan. The Information Support Department of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to it, the edition contains scientific comments and a glossary.

The book was issued in a thousand copies. Work on the preparation of the edition began in 1992 by the Institute of Literature and Art Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and was continued by the Center for Manasology and Art Culture, and completed by the Institute of Language and Literature named after Chingiz Aitmatov.
