Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Meder Abakirov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Marek Eshtok held interagency consultations and discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Kyrgyzstan — Slovakia relations, trade, economic, investment, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the agreements reached following the official visit of Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar to the Kyrgyz Republic in April 2025.
The parties confirmed their interest in the practical implementation of signed bilateral documents and the promotion of joint projects in the fields of economy, investment, energy, transport, and education.
Organizing mutual visits at the highest and highest levels was also discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of further developing mutual visits between the leadership of the two countries.
The high level of interaction within international organizations, including the UN, the OSCE, and cooperation formats between Central Asia and the European Union, was noted.
Slovakia congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028 and expressed readiness to continue close cooperation on international issues.
Furthermore, issues of consular and legal cooperation were discussed, including labor migration, social protection of citizens, and improving the legal framework between the two states.
