Project surveys fully completed on Barskoon–Bedel road

Full geodetic and engineering-geological surveys have been completed along the entire route of the strategic Barskoon—Bedel road, which spans approximately 161 kilometers. Project documentation has been prepared, and construction works continue according to schedule.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, tunneling works are currently underway for two tunnels — Sook and Ashuu-Suu. At the same time, construction teams are carrying out piling works for future bridge structures.

To support construction activities and maintain transport connectivity across Karasai River, a temporary 60-meter bridge has been commissioned. It is being used by construction equipment as well as local residents.

The project includes the construction of a new road, more than 50 bridges, two tunnels, and a number of protective engineering structures.

More than 1,100 workers are currently engaged at the site. In the near future, the workforce is expected to increase to 1,500–2,500 specialists. Most of the major construction equipment has already been delivered, with additional machinery still being transported. Concrete plants, crushing facilities, and temporary production bases have been established along the route.

According to the ministry, major construction works are planned to be completed by 2029, with full commissioning of the road expected in 2030.

The Barskoon—Bedel road is considered one of the largest infrastructure projects in recent years and is expected to create a new transport corridor between Kyrgyzstan and China.
