President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a decree introducing a temporary legal framework for the online registration of certain categories of vehicles and ownership rights.
According to the document, the new procedure will be in effect from April 1 through December 31, 2026. During this period, vehicle registration and ownership registration will partially shift to an online format.
The decree approves a temporary procedure for online registration. Its implementation aims to simplify vehicle record-keeping, improve the quality of technical inspections, and enhance public services.
The rollout will be handled by the State Vehicle and Driver Registration Center, Kyzmat state institution, Tunduk OJSC, and the State Customs Service. They have been tasked with conducting public awareness campaigns, ensuring the technical readiness of the system, and reporting quarterly to the Cabinet of Ministers.
Payment organizations may also be involved in the new system.
If the pilot proves successful, authorities plan to transition vehicle registration fully online on a permanent basis.
