Respiratory virus season in Kyrgyzstan nears end, situation stable

The season of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) and influenza in Kyrgyzstan is coming to an end, with the overall epidemiological situation described as stable. The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported.

According to specialists, the ARVI season typically begins in October and lasts through March, while influenza cases are most commonly recorded from late November to January.

Preliminary data for the week from March 23 to 29 show that 6,299 ARVI cases were registered nationwide, marking a 10.8 increase compared to the previous week.

Children under the age of 14 account for 68.8 percent of all reported cases.
