According to the results of 2024, bans and restrictions on the employment of migrants have been introduced in at least 47 regions of Russia, annexed Crimea and Sevastopol, as well as in the occupied territories of Zaporozhye Region, Verstka reports.
The largest number of types of work are unavailable to foreigners in the Krasnodar Krai — 99, Tver Oblast takes the second place (82), the least restrictions are in Voronezh Oblast — 10.
The largest number of bans on work for foreigners were introduced in the taxi and public transport sectors — in 47 regions. As for the trade sector, the ban is in effect in 39 regions, in housing and communal services — in 14, in courier work — in 12.
Bans were imposed in the medical sector in 19 regions: hospitals, pharmacies, in the production of medicines, in education — in 27. At military-industrial complex plants, the ban was introduced in only 7 regions, in construction — only in two regions: Krasnodar Krai and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The bans on employment in certain areas have exceptions: mainly for unskilled workers and cleaners.
Sometimes these exceptions are so large-scale that the restrictions lose their meaning.
About 40 regions did not introduce restrictions on employment, including the largest in terms of economy: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Sverdlovsk Oblast.
